Awareness of End of Life Care Level 2

What does the qualification cover?

This qualification provides the opportunity to develop an understanding of different perspectives of death and dying, and the impact it has on individuals. It covers the aims and principles of end of life care, communication factors and how to access a range support services in end of life care.

Who is it suitable for?

It is appropriate for those who have already achieved a Level 2 qualification in health and social care and are looking to develop their knowledge in this area. This could include workers in hospices, care homes, care in the community and primary care.

As a taster qualification it can also be used as CPD across all levels. This makes it ideal for anyone who may need an understanding of this subject even though they are not directly involved in the care of individuals.

What are the entry requirements?

You should be at least 16 years old. CACHE does not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.

How many credits are required to complete it?

The Award requires 3 credits.

How is it assessed?

It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include compiling a portfolio of evidence, a task set by CACHE or by an assignment.

Do you need to be working to take this qualification?

No, as it is a knowledge only qualification.

On completion of the course we follow up with our students on their next step.
