This course covers all aspects of plumbing skills and techniques that are needed to start a career as a professional plumber. This high level training is given by our qualified instructors in our purpose built technical centers.
No previous experience is required to take part in this course but the completion of our introductory course to plumbing will be helpful.
You will receive a City & Guilds Level 1 qualification and cover the following:
- An overview of the course content
- Assessment of trainees existing skill level
- A short demonstration of Copper pipe forming and soldering
- Cutting 15mm and 22mm copper pipe using various methods
- Preparation of copper pipe work prior to soldering
- Correct soldering method
- Forming various bends and offsets in 15mm and 22mm pipe
- Introduction of rainwater goods, dismantle and re erect gutter and down pipe to correct fall and bracket distance
- Transferral of levels from one wall to another using a variety of levelling methods
- Manufacturing test jigs (which will be watertight) using a variety of plumbing materials, to drawing specifications
- Make up jigs
- Install a cloakroom suite to drawing specification to comply with water regulations
- Remove and refit domestic central heating radiator
- Fault finding and maintenance on domestic plumbing system
