CITY & GUILDS LEVEL 2 PAINTING & DECORATING (4 WEEKS)

This course covers all aspects of painting and decorating principles and practices and is intended for those that want to gain practical skills and knowledge in order to gain entry into the professional painting and decorating industry or develop their skills and knowledge as a professional painter and decorator.

This is a professional trade qualification and you will gain a level 2 City & Guilds Certificate on completion of this course. There are 6 mandatory Units and you must complete any 2 Units from the 7 optional units

The 6 Painting & Decorating Mandatory Units are:

  • Painting a timber window frame
  • Applying emulsion to wall by roller
  • Painting doors and frames
  • Applying oil based paint to walls by roller
  • Removing and hanging wallpaper to walls
  • Hanging paper to ceilings and painting

The 7 Painting & Decorating Optional Units are:

  • Rust removal and primal metal
  • Applying paint by spraying
  •  Introduction to glazing for painting and decorating
  •  Using broken colour techniques
  • Working with hardwood finishes
  • Removing and refitting a water-filled radiator
  • Introduction to artexing and coving
