INTRODUCTION TO BRICKLAYING (5 DAYS)

Learn the basic principles of bricklaying that can catapult your career as a professional bricklayer. As part of the qualification you will build a portfolio of the work you have completed; this will include photographic evidence together with useful tips on bricklaying that will help you on your way to a successful career.

You will receive an accredited qualification in plastering and cover the following.

  • Correctly mixing mortar and stacking out materials
  • Laying bricks to a line by setting out your building lines correctly
    and gauging your work
  • Plumbing your walls correctly and ensuring that they are square
  • Building corners, Brick Pillars & Piers
  • Using various joint finishes i.e. bucket handle. Struck joint and
    raked out
  • The different types of bonds used in 9’’ and 4’’ walls
